The general tab contains two sections: General Settings and Message Settings.

General Settings

Board List Sort Order

The Board List Sort Order section allows you to choose what order messages are displayed on the message board listings. You can choose from three options:

• Newest First: This option will display the most recently posted message at the top of the list.
• Oldest First: This option will display the oldest posted message at the top of the list.
• Alphabetised by Subject: This option will sort the posted messages alphabetically by their subject lines.

Message Grouping (Threading)

In the Message Grouping (Threading) section, you can choose to display messages individually or as groups of subjects or threads. You can choose from these two options:

• Grouped by Thread: This option will display messages grouped by subjects or threads.
• Not Grouped by Thread: This option will display the individual messages.

Message Settings

Message Timeframe

The Message Timeframe section allows you to limit how long you will see posted messages. You can select the number of days you want to see messages by typing the number of days in the Show messages posted within text box.

Message Display

The Message Display section gives to two settings that let you decide the number of messages that will display at one time and what type of messages will be displayed. You can choose the number of messages that will display at one time by clicking the Display _ messages at a time drop-down menu to open it, choosing a number from the list, then clicking it. You can choose the All Messages option by clicking it to display both read and unread messages or choose the Unread Messages Only option by clicking it to display only the message that you have not read yet.

Time Zone

You can select your local time zone by clicking the Time Zone drop-down menu to open it, choosing your local time zone from the list, then clicking it.
