AOL Help: Search Your Email

You can use the search feature on AOL Email on the Web to help locate and sort the email in the current folder.

When the search function is active, the Search Email button is replaced with the Hide Search button.

To search your email:
1. On the AOL Email window, in the list of folders on the left, click the folder you want to search.
2. Click the Search Email button.
3. Click the drop-down arrow next to Search to open it, choose a search criteria from the list, and then click it. You have eight options to choose from:

  • Subject and From: This option will allow you to type the word or email address you are looking for in the text box, then display the emails in the current folder that match what you typed.
  • All text: This option will allow you to type any word contained in the email you are looking for.
  • Unread messages: This option will display all unread email in the current folder.
  • Read messages: This option will display all read email in the current folder.
  • Flagged messages: This option will display all the email that you have flagged in the current folder.
  • Unflagged messages: This option will display only the email you have not flagged in the current folder.
  • Answered messages: This option will display all the email that you have replied to in the current folder.
  • Unanswered messages: This option will display only the email you have not replied to in the current folder.

4. Click the Search button.
