How do I turn off Parental Controls?

Parental Controls can easily be modified as your children grow older and are ready for different online experiences, or as they encounter new online areas.

To modify Parental Controls:

  1. To access Parental Controls go to http://parentalcontrols.aol.co.uk or sign-on to AOL and visit AOL Keyword: Parental Controls.
  2. Click on the screen name whose category setting you would like to change.
  3. Click on the Edit Age Category button and select an age group or click on the Edit Control buttons to change individual settings. Parental Controls are an integral part of the AOL service; however, if you do not wish to set limits on what your child can see and do online, simply designate their screen name as General Access (18+). The General Access Screen Names can take advantage of the full range of services AOL has to offer.

To turn off Parental Controls:

  1. To access Parental Controls go to http://parentalcontrols.aol.co.uk or sign-on to AOL and visit AOL Keyword: Parental Controls.
  2. Click on the screen name whose category setting you would like to change.
  3. Click on the Edit Age Category button and select General.
