How do I prevent inappropriate emails?

Unsolicited email is a common problem but it is particularly worrying when it comes to kids. This includes mail that contains content you do not want your children to see, or mail that asks for information you do not want your children to give.

To minimise the unsolicited email your kids receive, use Email Controls (sign on to AOL and visit AOL Keyword: Mail Controls) to block all email or to select the email addresses from which you wish to allow your children to receive email. Remember that screen names and information voluntarily given by children and teens in public chat rooms, email exchanges, message boards, the Member Directory, and other online communications are publicly available and may be used by other parties to generate unsolicited email.
