You will not be able to send your AOL email through the Microsoft Outlook software if the correct outgoing mail (SMTP) port is not set up.

Set the outgoing mail port

In order to provide additional security for our members, the AOL and AIM services require that all outgoing mail use Port 587 rather than the default Port 25.

To set the outgoing mail port:

1. Launch the Outlook or Outlook Express software.
   
2. Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts....
   
3. Click the account you want to use to highlight it, then click the Properties button.
   
4. Click the Advanced tab.
   
5. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP): box, type 587.
   
6. Click the OK button.
   
7. Click the Close button.
