To create a new dial-up connection for CompuServe Classic, the starting position is the Windows Desktop. By clicking on the Start-button, the Start menu appears with its options, as shown below.

In the right column you choose Control Panel, and then the screen below appears.
Then you choose Network and Internet.

The following screen appears, and here you need to choose Network and Internet panel

The screen below shows the Network and Sharing Center, where in the left part of this screen you need to choose Set up a connection or network.

The screen below appears where you need to choose Set up a dial-up connection, and then choose Next.

Now the screen below appears, where you can type the Dial-up Phone number, the User ID with a comma, and the dial-up password. If you wish, you can check the option remember this password.
And then to name the dial-up connection, you can type CSTECH, just as below in the example.

IMPORTANT:
If you select Connect, you may notice that the dial-up connection does not work.
You will receive an error-message, but this error-message also states that this dial-up connection has been saved.
Now go back to the Network and Sharing Center.
In the left blue/green part you can select Manage network connections.

You now should see a screen like the one below.

Now the dialup connection needs to be set up correctly. Right-click the CSTECH-connection, and then left-click on Properties.
You need to set up the tabs General, Options, Security and Networking, with all its specific settings, as shown in the previous manuals.
The tab called "Sharing" may be skipped!
Once all the necessary tabs have been set up, you can choose OK.
You are now returning to the Dial-up screen.

If the modem has been set up correctly, you can immediately connect to the internet by clicking on the Connect-button. The following screen appears.

Once the dial-up procedure has started, you will also see the script running, as seen below.

Then finally the Terminal screen appears where you can see the logon procedure, as shown below.

Now the dial-up connection has been established, and the connection to the internet is a fact.
