We can not advise members on their network settings.
Tab 'Networking'
In the field 'Type of dial up server I am calling' enter 'PPP:Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/internet'

Now click 'OK' at the bottom Close down all the windows and return to the desktop, look for the short cut "CSTech"
To connect to CompuServe once you have a Dial-Up Connection:
Important: do not save the password as certain builds of Windows 2000 will encrypt and change it. This has been corrected in SP3 and SP4.
Click Dial:
As the connection dials, a Terminal window will appear (Black), you should get the following lines of text:

It is very important to let this run, because if the connection fails, it will tell you why
When the connection has been established, you can open CompuServe 40.2 and click 'Connect'
CompuServe will open up with 'Welcome to CompuServe'
Click 'Connect'
You will be asked for your password again (unless it is already saved in your 'Preferences')

NB. Once CompuServe is closed, you will still have a live connection.
Go to the bottom right hand corner of the screen next to the clock and right-click on the small 'PC' Icon
It will display 'Status' or 'Disconnect', click 'Disconnect' to terminate your CompuServe connection
