This article is to assist you in uninstalling the AOL Toolbar 5.0 and in verifying whether the AOL Toolbar 5.0 has been successfully installed.

You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions as this page may not remain visible as you go through the suggested steps.

Uninstall AOL Toolbar

You can uninstall the AOL Toolbar 5.0 from the browser window.

To uninstall AOL Toolbar 5.0:
1. On the right side of the AOL Toolbar, next to the Sign In link, click the Toolbar Options icon, select Help, then click Uninstall Toolbar.

Note: If using Mozilla Firefox, on the right side of the AOL Toolbar, next to the Sign In link, click the Change settings icon, then click Uninstall.

2. Click the Uninstall button.

3. When prompted to restart the computer after the uninstallation, click the Finish button.

Install AOL Toolbar

Reinstalling the AOL Toolbar software will install a fresh copy of the AOL toolbar on your computer.

To install the AOL Toolbar software:
1. Go to http://info.aol.co.uk/aoltoolbar.

2. Click the Download AOL Toolbar button, then follow the onscreen prompt to download and complete the installation.

Verify Installation

After downloading and installing AOL Toolbar 5.0, it will be listed in the Internet Explorer Toolbar menu.

To verify installation of the AOL Toolbar 5.0 software for Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer 6.0:
Click the View menu, select Toolbars, then determine if AOL Toolbar is listed.

To verify installation of the AOL Toolbar 5.0 software for Internet Explorer 7.0:
Click the Tools menu, select Toolbars, then determine if AOL Toolbar is listed.

Note: A check mark next to AOL Toolbar indicates that it is enabled.
