Sending an Instant Message

Your Buddies must be signed on in order to send Instant Messages to them. (One way to always know when your Buddies are signed on is to add them to your Buddy List.)

To send an Instant Message to a Buddy, perform the following steps:

Select IM on the Buddy List window.
Type your Buddy's name in the To field.
Type the message you want to send in the text box.
Click Send.

Your Screen Name and message appear in the Conversation window. After your Buddy responds, his Screen Name and messages also appear in the window.

You can also perform several tasks:

To display information about your Buddy, click Info.
To warn your Buddy when sending offensive or annoying messages, click Warn.
To close the window, click Close.
